The United Church of Canada launched a $10.5 million ad c
ampaign that directs people to a web-site (http://wondercafe.ca/) where the hope is that discussion and questions can be asked in response to Jesus and his followers. The ads have been seen as racy and push the boundaries of religious rights and wrongs.
I personally think they are genius ideas.

Often I think of places like Afghanistan (or Pakistan, India, etc.) as very backward places. Almost like they are stuck in yesteryear. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's not like all the advances we have here in America has made us a "better" place. A lot of what we have has just allowed more violence, more theft, more greed, more lust, more regret. But I digress...
While this picture does "support" my think of backwardness it also changes my opinion. My mind's eye usually has a colorless world, bleak and gray. This picture shatters that preception.
It's amazing the power that this woman possessed. What she accomplished through her peaceful demonstration is truly an inspiration. My first response is typically the opposite, it's aggression and force.
Proverbs 12:20 "There is deceit in the hearts of those who plot evil, but joy for those who promote peace."
Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."
Romans 14:19 "Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification."
I want to be a peacemaker! I think that the lack of peace, inward and outward, is because there is a lack of truth. So it is also my desire to be a person of truth.

I found this photo at haloimages.com. I think the photo captures so much. My prejudices first lead to think these are under previleged children. But there is nothing to suggest that. Just two chidren with a secret for their smiles. Beautiful faces. Beautiful texture. Beautiful colors.
